General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
for the Bowling Center American Bowl & Play Off Restaurant & Sportsbar

1. Scope of Application
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all services and offers of the American Bowl Bowling Center, including the affiliated Play OFF Restaurant & Sportsbar, in particular the use of the bowling lanes as well as gastronomic services, events, and reservations.
In addition to these GTC, our house rules in their current version apply.
They are part of the contractual relationship and serve to ensure safety, order, and the smooth running of operations.
The house rules are available for inspection on site and can be accessed at any time on our website.

By entering our location, guests acknowledge the house rules as binding.

2. Use of Bowling Lanes
The use of the lanes is only permitted after prior booking or registration.
The lanes may only be entered with footwear approved by the bowling center.
The period of use begins at the reserved time. Late arrival shortens the period of use accordingly. Refunds are excluded in this case.
Despite regular maintenance, technical malfunctions or temporary outages of individual bowling lanes may occur in rare cases. These do not automatically entitle you to an extension of playtime, substitute services, or a price reduction.
Of course, in such cases, we strive for a swift solution, for example, by rebooking, issuing a credit note, or a goodwill decision on a case-by-case basis—without recognizing any legal obligation.

3. Gastronomy and Consumption
It is not permitted to bring your own food or beverages.
Billing is carried out according to the price list valid at the time of ordering.
For group reservations or events, separate agreements may be made regarding the menu, procedures, and payment modalities.

4. Reservations and Cancellations
Reservations for bowling lanes, tables, or events can be made in person on site, by phone, email, or online.
A booking is considered binding once it has been confirmed by us verbally or in writing. In certain cases (e.g., for group bookings, events, or special promotions), we reserve the right to require written confirmation or a down payment.
If you do not show up at the agreed time without prior cancellation, we reserve the right to
-release the reservation after 15 minutes and
-charge a cancellation fee of up to 80% of the expected revenue if the lane could not be otherwise assigned.
The customer is explicitly allowed to prove that no or substantially less damage has occurred.

Cancellations are possible free of charge up to 24 hours before the booked appointment. After this, a cancellation fee in the amount of the deposit will be charged.
We will try to accommodate rescheduling or short-notice changes in the customer’s interest but cannot guarantee this.
For groups (companies, clubs, travel groups, school groups including children’s birthday parties, party packages, etc.) that have received a written offer or confirmation from us, the down payment and cancellation terms agreed upon in the offer/confirmation apply.

5. Payment Terms
Payment for all services (bowling, food, beverages, events, etc.) must be made in full on the day of use—either in cash or by EC-/credit card.
Payment on account is only possible for group bookings and after prior agreement. This requires a written declaration of cost coverage from the company, club, school, or responsible institution.
We reserve the right to refuse payment on account.
Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are due within 14 days from the invoice date without deduction.
In case of payment delay, we reserve the right to charge reminder fees and default interest pursuant to legal regulations.

6. House Rules and Behavior
Staff is authorized to exercise the house rules. Guests who violate the house rules or behave inappropriately may be denied entry or may be asked to leave.
For events with increased risk, we reserve the right to impose special conditions or to refuse bookings.

7. Liability
The use of our bowling lanes, gastronomic facilities, and all other areas is at your own risk.
In cases of willful damage to facilities or improper use, the perpetrators or their legal representatives are liable for any resulting damage.
We accept no liability for personal injury or property damage resulting from improper use of bowling lanes, balls, shoes, or other facilities, unless caused by intentional or grossly negligent conduct on our part or that of our agents.
Parents or accompanying persons are liable for their children. Children under 12 may use the bowling lanes only when accompanied by a person authorized to supervise.
We assume no liability for loss, theft, or damage to items brought by guests (including balls, personal belongings, mobile phones, bags, jackets, etc.), even if using storage areas or coatrooms.
In cases of force majeure (e.g., power failure, technical defects, natural events), we do not accept liability for any failures or damages incurred. In such cases, we endeavor to offer an alternative date or a reasonable solution in the interest of our guests.

8. Safety and Supervision of Children
The safety of children is especially important to us. Therefore:
Children under 12 may stay in the bowling area only when accompanied and constantly supervised by an adult authorized to supervise.
Parents, guardians, or supervising adults are required to watch the children at all times and are responsible for their behavior.
In particular, it must be ensured that children:

• do not step onto the bowling lane (high risk of slipping),
• do not reach into the ball return system (risk of injury from returning balls),
• do not play, throw, or handle bowling balls improperly,
• do not run across the approach area.
  We accept no liability for damages or injuries caused by unsupervised children or incurred by them.

Young people aged 14 and over are permitted to visit our bowling alley unaccompanied.
However, please note: 
We do not assume any supervisory responsibility or liability for minors without accompanying adults.
Responsibility remains with the parents or legal guardians.

9. Data Protection
The collection, processing, and use of personal data are carried out in accordance with legal data protection regulations. Details are governed in our privacy policy.

10. Vouchers
Vouchers may only be redeemed at American Bowl and Play OFF and are valid for the services listed therein (e.g., bowling, food, beverages).
Vouchers are valid for three years from the date of issue unless another expiry date is stated.
No discounts or vouchers can be accepted for special events. Special events are themed events such as Men’s Day or Women’s Day parties, celebrations, and highlights of any kind.
Only one voucher per person/group may be used per day.
Vouchers cannot be combined with other discounts on game or hourly prices.
Cash payout of the voucher value is excluded.
In case of loss, theft, or illegibility, we do not accept liability.

11. Children’s Birthday Parties
Children’s birthday parties can only be booked in advance and with notification of the number of participating children.
Supervisory responsibility remains with the organizer or the responsible adult guardians throughout the event.
It is not permitted to bring your own food or beverages.
On request, we offer special children’s offers or menus.

12. Alcohol Sales and Youth Protection
The serving of alcoholic beverages is in accordance with the Youth Protection Act (JuSchG).
Alcohol will only be served to persons aged 18 and over; in case of doubt, we reserve the right to require photo identification.
The consumption of spirits and alcohol-containing mixed drinks is prohibited for minors.
Staff is both authorized and required to refuse the serving of alcohol in cases of visible intoxication or inappropriate behavior.

13. Notice on Events with Increased Stimulation Potential (e.g., Party Bowling)
Our party bowling events (usually from 19:00) take place in a special atmosphere: with loud music, flashing lights, black light effects, and microphone moderation.
These effects may cause health reactions in sensitive persons—especially those with epilepsy, susceptibility to migraines, or other light- or sound-sensitive conditions.
Participation in such events is therefore at your own risk. Affected persons or their companions are advised to inform themselves with the staff in advance and if necessary to refrain from participation.
Liability for health reactions in this context is excluded—subject to statutory provisions.
For health protection reasons, babies and small children under 3 years of age are not admitted to such events.

In consideration for the well-being of small children and babies:
-Children under 3 years of age and babies are generally not permitted to participate in these events.
-In exceptional cases, and only with suitable hearing protection, guardians may assume responsibility for participation.
-We reserve the right to deny entry in cases of insufficient protection or safety concerns.
-We ask all parents for their understanding—the health of our youngest guests comes first.

14. Dogs in Restaurant and Bowling Areas
Out of consideration for other guests, hygiene standards, and the special atmosphere of the bowling and restaurant area, bringing dogs (and other animals) is unfortunately not permitted.
We ask for your understanding, as the noise level, light effects, and smells may be very stressful for animals—we also want to ensure a pleasant and safe stay for all guests.
Naturally, officially recognized assistance dogs (with proof) are exempt.

15. Final Provisions
The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply.
Severability Clause
Should any provision of these General Terms and Conditions be or become wholly or partially invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. In place of the invalid or unenforceable provision, a provision shall apply that comes as close as possible to the economic purpose of the invalid provision.
